Biographical Sketch for
Pastor Derek
Derek Morris currently serves as senior pastor of the Forest Lake Church in Apopka, Florida. His sermons are viewed worldwide via streaming video at www.forestlakechurch.org and the Hope Channel. He teaches preaching courses for Andrews University and Southern Adventist University, and presents preaching workshops for pastors around the world. His greatest joy is found in helping people to experience a life-changing encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. He has completed a Doctor of Ministry in Practical Theology from Andrews University and a Doctor of Ministry in Preaching from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He has published extensively in MINISTRY magazine, particularly in regards to effective biblical preaching. His book, Powerful Biblical Preaching has been translated in several languages. His most recent best-selling book, The Radical Prayer is available at www.theradicalprayer.com.
Derek is married to Bodil Chen Morris. Their favorite hobby is writing Scripture songs. Their TRILOGY Scripture Songs music ministry website is www.trilogyscripturesongs.com. They have recorded 6 CDs which are heard worldwide on over 200 Christian radio stations.
